Join the thousands of members who already know the benefits of belonging to this great club. The Southtowns Walleye Association is a family-orientated organization that formed to promote walleye fishing activities in Lake Erie, the Niagara River and Western New York. From our humble beginning in the 1980s we have grown to become one of the largest walleye clubs in North America. We believe that fishing is an important past time which strengthens family bonds and enhances the quality of life in our region.
The Southtowns Walleye Association through the support of conservation programs and public access to the shores and waters of Lake Erie and throughout Western New York has set the example for the intelligent and enjoyable use of our environment. Conservation of our local environment and natural resources is always our utmost concern. We believe that by educating our children and ourselves we can insure the future of our prized fishery. In this endeavor we have established a college scholarship to promote higher education in the environmental-related fields and law enforcement.
The benefits of membership also include our monthly magazine, the FISHLINE, which has feature articles on fishing, boating, environmental news, recipes and humor. Our monthly meetings provide guest speakers on topics about fishing, boating and conservation. Our annual Lunker Club is an honor for members who are lucky enough to catch a trophy walleye over ten pounds.
The Southtowns Walleye Association members are active helping our youth learn about fishing through our Kids Programs. We send four kids to conservation camp each summer, and award lifetime fishing licenses. We have Special People Fishing Weekends in the winter for those less fortunate who cannot get out to fish on their own. These are just a few examples of our programs and activities.
The strength of our organization is in the members and volunteers.
We invite you to join us and share in our enthusiasm for the sport we love.
